Reggio Emilia, 11th November 2021: This year’s 12th edition of the Terre di Canossa will take place between April 21st and 24th and, as always, will be an unrivalled mix of sport, passion, scenery, culture and unforgettable evening events. Art towns and cities, marvellous countryside, unique locations, ancient castles, rolling hills and challenging mountain passes will provide the backdrop for one of the top rallies in the international panorama of classic car events.
Let’s get our engines roaring again
The last two years have been very complicated for everyone and all of us have had to make some difficult choices. Travel restrictions seem to have been relaxed so we are full of hope that we will be able to meet up again with friends and enthusiasts from all over the world. At, Canossa Events we are getting events ready for next season in our usual style, taking care to comply with all of the safety protocols in place. It’s time to get back on the road, to start travelling together again, to get our lives back and start reliving our passions, including our love of classic cars.
The 12th edition
As usual, the rally will follow an itinerary of around 600 km, including timed trials and average speed times. But the Terre di Canossa is not just a rally. It is primarily a winning combination of fantastic cars and gentlemen drivers who come here from far afield to enjoy the opportunity to get a special taste of Italy, combining the adrenalin of the competition with the delights of the best Italian food and wine, and the chance to explore the areas en route.
The organisers have also included lots of new elements to keep things interesting for regular competitors. They include the fact that the Terre di Canossa will be classed as a regularity tourist rally this year. As a result, younger co-drivers aged between 14 and 18 will be able to join in for the first time. This will make it the perfect opportunity to make some great memories with the kids during the journey.
Another fantastic new addition is the focus on the lush Garfagnana area, as we will not just be passing through this year but will offer participants a more intense experience: we have added two evening events with the relative accommodation in the Tuscan countryside.
We want to give our crews the opportunity to enjoy some of the best scenery that our wonderful country has to offer with two lunch locations at the coast this year: on Saturday, lunch will have a view of the enchanting Gulf of Poets, and second lunch will have the coast of Versilia for a backdrop.
Some of the most popular locations in previous years have been confirmed for the twelfth edition: the departure from the beautiful Art Nouveau town of Salsomaggiore Terme, the gala dinner designed by a top Michelin-starred chef held in the magnificent setting of the Palazzo dei Congressi, driving up and across the challenging Cento Croci Pass and Passo Pradarena Pass, the Cinque Terre road and its picturesque views of the sea, and driving through the old town centres of some of the most beautiful art towns and cities in Tuscany.
A Green event
The organisers have reconfirmed their eco-friendly outlook by once again deciding to implement a CarbonZero protocol this year, requiring measures to be employed that can help reduce the impact on the environment and calculating the residual emissions of climate-altering gases. These emissions are then compensated in full by planting trees in the Tuscan Emilian Apennine Mountains.
