Terre di Canossa: a green event
We try to run our operations in the most sustainable way possible. The Terre di Canossa was the first ‘zero-emission’ classic car race.
For years Terre di Canossa will adopt a conscious approach to protect and sustain the environment with two concrete actions:
Canossa Events and Scuderia Tricolore stand up together for the environment, confirming their approach to organising zero-emission events.
Terre di Canossa repeats each year the experience of the CarbonZero project. It was implemented for the first time during the 2015 event, the very first event in its field to have achieved an added value in the preservation of the environment.
The CarbonZero project has been created and developed by Studio Alfa, and it has been validated according to the international standard UNI EN ISO 14064. CarbonZero allows an immediate calculation of the emission inventory of the event and it also offers active solutions for a responsible carbon management.
“Our wonderful planet deserves to be protected with the same care we show to our own classic cars,”
explained Luigi Orlandini, president and CEO of Canossa Events.
“It is true that the total amount of emissions produced by classic cars are completely irrelevant on a planetary scale when compared with those produced by transportation, energy production and livestock, however we want to do our part in helping the environment: this way, the crews will be able to leave the mark of their tyres on the beautiful Italian roads without leaving any on our environment.”
