May 9, 2026: the Terre di Canossa Rally began this morning from the Augustus Hotel & Resort in Forte dei Marmi, heading towards Garfagnana: a slice of the Apennines with ancient history and lush nature. The crews paraded through Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and Borgo a Mozzano, in front of the iconic Devil’s Bridge, with its unique architecture that evokes numerous legends. It was then time to celebrate Carlo Collodi: the 2026 edition is indeed dedicated to him, the famous writer who, in 1881, published one of the most beloved fairy tales of all time: The Adventures of Pinocchio. The stop at Villa Garzoni in Collodi then gave participants the chance to visit the Pinocchio Park.
The lunch stop was in Montecatini Terme, one of Italy’s oldest and most renowned spa towns. The excitement continued as the route passed over the medieval walls of Lucca, where the crews were welcomed by flag bearers for a unique show. The return to Versilia took place via Camaiore, a village of ancient traditions nestled between the sea and mountains, and Viareggio, the Versilian city famous for its grand seafront and renowned Carnival. The day concluded in Forte dei Marmi, where the cheering crowd greeted the historic cars.
The Quiz Game sees Crew 21, consisting of Guy Dubois and Magda Van Houdt from the Retro Rally Group team, in first place, driving a Volvo P1900.The provisional standings for the second day of timed trials are:
- Historic Cars: leading is Crew 15, consisting of Gustavo Galfione and Maria Cristina Sueyras, driving a Triumph TR2
- Modern Cars: in the first place the crew 65, consisting of Paul Hugo e Sophia Cooke. Their car is an Aston Martin V12 Vantage
Tomorrow is the final day: destination Pisa and its stunning province. The awards ceremony will take place during lunch at the Canniccia Motor Club in Forte dei Marmi.
